Crew Members
The Aviva Weekend to Breakthrough Breast Cancer would not be possible without the all-volunteer Crew. They serve as the backbone of the event by taking an empty field and turning it into a camp, bringing the event to life, and serving as the support system for the Walkers in every sense of the word. They work hard and toil long hours, often in the dark, heat, or cold.
You will put your physical capabilities, your diligence, and your work ethic through an endurance test, but you will be rewarded in ways that you’ve never imagined. You never feel like you count so much as when you’re being counted on this much.
Do you want to help us recruit more Crew Members who could help us make this event a huge success? We’d love your help! A little later in the year, you'll find links on this page to Crew Flyers that you can print out and put up in your neighbourhood and let people know that we need them!
Each Crew Member is required to pay a £25 registration fee. Crew Members are not required to fundraise, but they are strongly encouraged to raise a minimum of £300 for Breakthrough Breast Cancer.
When registering as a Crew Member, it is important to remember that the positions can be physically demanding. For the success and safety of our event and its participants, it is crucial that you are comfortable with this. As a Crew Member, you'll attend the entire event in a service capacity, and you won't walk the 60 km route.
The Crew will receive the same support and fundraising advice as our Walkers. Crew Members should always feel free to call our coaches at for fundraising advice and pep talks. Crew Members are the foundation of the walk, and we want to make sure they have all the support they need.
